Executive Summary
The average retail price per litre of Household Kerosene (HHK) paid by consumers in June 2022 increased by 12.09% on a month-on-month basis from N679.54 in May 2022 to N761.69 in June 2022. On a year-on-year basis, the average retail price per litre rose by 105.70% from N370.29 in June 2021. The state profile analysis showed that the highest average price per litre in June 2022 was recorded in Ogun with N961.54, followed by Enugu with N961.11 and Ekiti with N926.47. On the other hand, the lowest price was recorded in Nasarawa with N618.06, followed by Rivers with N618.42 and Jigawa with N625.00.
In addition, South-West recorded the highest average retail price per litre of Household Kerosene with N878.05, followed by South-East with N 846.64 and North-East with N750.42, while the South-South recorded the lowest with N687.81. The average retail price per gallon of Household Kerosene paid by consumers increased by 13.35% on a month-on-month basis from N2,358.30 in May 2022 to N2673.04 in June 2022. On a year-on year basis, this increased by 112.97% from N1,255.15 in June 2021.
On state profile analysis, Abuja recorded the highest average retail price with N3590.00, followed by Enugu with N3178.33 and Oyo with N3136.07. On the other hand, Borno recorded the lowest price with N2300.00, followed by Yobe and Niger with N2,350.00 and N2,390.00, respectively. Analysis by zone showed that South-West recorded the highest average retail price per gallon of Household Kerosene with N2,996.86, followed by South-East and North-West with N2,851.52 and N2,633.32 respectively, while the North-East recorded the lowest with N2,428.33.
