Executive Summary
The average retail price per litre of Household Kerosene (HHK) paid by consumers in August 2022 was N809.52, indicating an increase of 2.50% compared to N789.75 recorded in July 2022. On a year-on-year basis, the average retail price per litre of the product rose by 102.38% from N400.01 in August 2021. On state profile analysis, the highest average price per litre in August 2022 was recorded in Imo with N1083.33, followed by Ekiti with N1,026.92 and Enugu with N1,017.74. On the other hand, the lowest price was recorded in Nasarawa with N625.00, followed by River with N627.45 and Adamawa with N633.33. In addition, analysis by zone showed that the South-East recorded the highest average retail price per litre of Household Kerosene with N953.88, followed by the South-West with N910.85, while the South -South recorded the lowest with N749.51. The average retail price per gallon of Household Kerosene paid by consumers in August 2022 was N2,947.65, showing an increase of 2.12% from N2,886.41 in July 2022. On a year-on-year basis, this increased by 122.40% from N1,325.39 in August 2021. On state profile analysis, Abuja recorded the highest average retail price per gallon of Household Kerosene with N4,050.00, followed by Abia with N3,825.00 and Enugu with N3,574.52. On the other hand, Zamfara recorded the lowest price with N2,280.00, followed by Lagos and Benue with N2,526.32 and N2,566.67respectively. Analysis by zone showed that the South-East recorded the highest average retail price per gallon of Household Kerosene with N3,276.78, followed by the South-West with N3,073.27, while the North-East recorded the lowest with N2,687.63.
